Welcome, we are glad you are considering becoming a GICS member. You will see below several categories of membership, including for each an option to waive dues if that is a hardship for you. And if you just want to keep abreast of GICS activities and news, just select “Email updates only,” and you will not be charged dues.
GICS wants to engage providers of surgical care throughout the world, and we welcome you to join our efforts. We try to gather members every 1-2 years, but the bulk of our work is accomplished through the various committees and working groups between our meetings. Annual membership dues are used to defray costs and to help subsidize travel for low- and middle- income members to attend our meetings. Dues vary by where you work.
There is now an opportunity for organizations to join GICS, with membership dues depending on the size of the organization. If your organization is interested in becoming an organizational member of GICS, please fill out the membership application form.

Organizational Membership
We are delighted to introduce the new Organizational Membership category at GICS. This marks an exciting milestone for our organization as it signifies a genuine spirit of collaboration with our organizational partners while upholding our member-led focus.
We extend a warm invitation to value-aligned organizations that share in the GICS mission to believe in a world where every child has access to safe, quality, timely, and affordable surgical, anaesthetic, and nursing care.
Before granting Organizational Memberships, we conduct a thorough review to ensure that all organizations align with GICS’s values and have a meaningful connection to our work. We have designed the membership fees to be flexible, taking into account the size of the applying organization, and whether it is based in an LMIC. The annual fees for organizations range from $100 to $5,000. As an added benefit, when your organization joins GICS, you can designate up to eight people whose individual annual membership dues will be waived.

The levels are as follows
Very Small Organization
Annual budget < $1,000
Dues: $200 annually
LMIC-Based Organization
Dues: $100 annually
We are eager to be inclusive of all organizations; if the dues are prohibitive, please let us know.
Please note if your organization is based in a Low- or Middle-Income Country please select the LMIC-based organization regardless of budget.
